Support from registration to your next return
GST becomes easier to manage when your sales, expenses and bank transactions agree. We help organise your records, work through transactions that need checking, and prepare and file your returns.
- Guidance on whether you need to register and which filing options fit your business.
- Bookkeeping and bank reconciliation in Xero or MYOB.
- GST return preparation and filing, with queries raised before submission.
- Help with IRD correspondence and identifying overdue filing work.
If you drive for a rideshare platform or receive other marketplace income, bring your platform statements. Tell Mohit how the income is earned so the relevant GST treatment can be checked.
Which plan includes GST filing?
Growth starts at $125 + GST/month with six-monthly GST filing. The two-monthly option is $150 + GST/month. Advisory+ includes two-monthly GST filing at $300 + GST/month, alongside forecasting and business consulting.
The $50 + GST/month Starter plan does not list GST return filing among its inclusions. Your filing frequency must suit your eligibility and business needs; ask about monthly filing or catch-up work before choosing a plan.
What to bring to the first conversation
- Your GST registration status and current filing frequency, if registered.
- The period covered by your most recent filed return and any outstanding periods.
- Your accounting software details, or the spreadsheets you currently use.
- Sales and expense records, bank statements, and questions about unusual transactions.
You do not need perfectly organised books to start. Explain what you have, and Mohit can identify the work needed. Arrange authorised account access during onboarding; do not send passwords through the enquiry form.
GST questions
When do I need to register for GST?
IRD says registration is required if you carry out a taxable activity and turnover reached $60,000 in the past 12 months, or is expected to reach that amount in the next 12 months. Registration is also required if you carry out a taxable activity and add GST to your prices. Voluntary registration may be possible below the threshold.
Can you help if my records are behind?
Yes. Start by telling Mohit which returns are outstanding and what records are available. Catch-up work needs its own scope, so confirm the fee before work begins.
Do I need to be in Auckland?
No. TaxSpace is based in Henderson and also supports clients remotely across New Zealand. See our local contact details.
